Public Liability Insurance
Cover if your business accidentally injures someone or damages their property.
A customer slips on a wet floor, a signboard falls on a passer-by, or a fire spreads to the neighbouring shop. Public liability insurance covers your legal liability to third parties for injury and property damage, including legal defence costs. Businesses handling hazardous substances must also buy a policy under the Public Liability Insurance Act, 1991.
